Dimers, I want to share to you guys about my newly acquired 1968 Datsun 510 (4-door). Purchased it last night for $450, asking price was $650. Was not able to drive it home cause the cluthc M/C was no good, no pressure to push the clutch. Ended up having it towed 12:15 last night, luckily I had my ex girlfriend AAA plus card. Got it home about 2:00 in the morning. It's pretty clean for '68 Datsun, front grille is in excelent condition, no crack on the dash board, very straight front and rear bumpers, original hub caps, new radiator, distributor and battery. Big dent on the rear driver side door and trunk lid, minor surface rust. It's about 90% original except for the steering wheel, radio and transmission (was column shift automatic), shifter is still in place. Questions: How can I get the old dull paint to shine again? Is the rear door same as any other year Datsun 510 (4 door sedan) as far as replacing the whole door? Thanks for any feed back!!! Abraham This message comes to you from the Datsun 510 mailing list.
