A good paint job has no clear(unless it's not a soild color),a good job also does not need to be cut or buffed. As for lacquer thinner ,if your paint is so hot try this,sock a rag in thinner and leave it sitting on your bonnet,about 1/2 hour later take it off,you will see your paint has F&%ked out big time.
