I can't understand why these Hondas(no offense, but I don't care for them)get under dimers skin? I restore older cars and when I worked in a resto shop in CT some people just liked the cars as original, sometimes with slight mods. "Jason" Jasensky(pic in re-issued how to hot rod...by Bob Waar)worked there just before I left. When I talked to him about the L16 engine he said NICE ENGINE(he worked on Bob Sharps race cars). When I mentioned L20Bs he gave me a quizzical look ,as if saying huh, what's that? I guess he just preferred the L!6 and L18 as a powerplant for the 510? I, Personally, prefer the same(only my opinion). A well prepared 510 with a L16,L18(modified and tuned right) is a pleasure to drive......especially if self prepared! Don't need no stinkin 145mph, don't need no stinkin engineering physics(pulled an A in that), don't need no stinkin young listers to "bait" me into thinkin on their level, don't need no stinkin engine bay "stretcher" to fit a v8, don't need anything but peace of mind...........and a 510!! As far as fish analogies, what about an older scavenger fish who does a nec essary job, works hard, gets things done with minimal "BS", and if he had arms and legs ,instead of fins.............would drive a dime!!! Later, Waldo 510 content.......my 71 510 is being fixed up, bodywise, and getting ready for a paint "over". I couldn't believe how much rust the NY winters have bestowed upon it! She's in the DRs hands now and will be all better SOON!! This message comes to you from the Datsun 510 mailing list.
