Subject: 1.5" vs 1.75" SU's

Those of you who are running 1.75" SU's, what manifold are you using? I am currently using 1.5" SU's on my Mini-Stock racer, but am having problems getting enough fuel for the LZ22 to run reliably at 7000rpm without melting pistons.... remember last season? I don't want to repeat that this year. What's the best doner to get carbs off? What's the best manifolf to use? Can I use the 1.5" manifold and just open it up to 1.75"? First race is tonight, to try and avoid this problem we have upgraded to .100 jets, and made another set of custom needles, but it still isn't happy at 7000rpm. So our solution was to change the diff. Unfortunately the only other diff I had is the stock 3.90, we were running a 4.625, I think I'll be lucky to see 6000rpm at the end of the straight. Someone I know has a nissan 4x4 truck they are wrecking, I believe the front diff is the same, can someone confirm? Straight replecament? What ratio would it be? Thanks for your help everyone. martin@qnx.com This message comes to you from the Datsun 510 mailing list.
