Hi Martin, bb's: Egad, man, don't start talking inches! :-) Assuming that 1.5" is 38mm, and 1.75" is 46mm, NOW I know what ya mean! >From list traffic, I've gathered that 2L is about as big as you want to run on 38's. 2L and up, especially higher RPM engines, like the 46's. You can probably port the manifold to agree to the larger carbs; some recommend modifying the insulator to match the carb on one side and the manifold on the other. Your call! For a 7000RPM race engine, boring the manifold would probably be better.... but that's a guess on my part. The 46's are very easy to come by, at least around here.... the 240Z's had just the carb on 'em. You might have some issues with the linkage and whatnot, and maybe throttle plate rotation (but I think that's 2000 Roadster carbs). Julian's page might have info? I think the DQ classifieds lists a few sets for sale... Someone said he had a custom built set of 46's for sale, with ported manifold, linkage, da woiks.... if he doesn't address you directly, let me know and I'll give you his info. >Someone I know has a nissan 4x4 truck they are wrecking, I >believe the front diff is the same, can someone confirm? >Straight replecament? What ratio would it be? An ancient email I keep around says that the 1/83-6/83 720 4x4 had a 3.90 R180; the 6/83-12/85 720 4x4 had a 4.11 R180. 2 pennies from a lurker, Kyle LZ22, at the exhaust shop today!
