I visited Specialty Engeneering and they make a mount, but its quite pricey. Has anyone constructed a system from existing or jy parts? Or does anyone else produce a custom mount that won't cost more than the price of the tranny? I have also been looking into the rear disk brake conversion. I have read the DQ article (Winter 98/99) which uses the 82-83 280zx rear brakes. I also noticed an online article (http://www.510again.com/articles/4wheel/4disk.html) that uses the 82-83 200sx lift back brakes instead. Is there any difference between the two, is one better than the other or easier to swap? Thanx, Nick >> I have one of Speciality Engineerings trans mounts for the dogleg tranny and I can tell you this. Unless you plan on making your own out of bar stock and welding it up yourself you won't beat the quality and engineering of these mount. The design has allowed me to have my exhaust made so that it tucks up closer to the under carriage creating more ground clearance and I'm talking about extending the dual exhaust down pipe down to and just past the trans mount . Something i couldn't of possibly done with the stock crossmember modified without it hanging lower than I'd of wanted it. I paid $60 for mine about 1 1/2 years back.
