From: Qwik510@aol.com Date: Thu, 11 May 2000 09:25:04 EDT Subject: 510 V-8 Project ( It Lives )BB's, Well, it finally happened. After more than 3 years of sitting in the garage my dime finally started last night. What a great 510 day present. WOW was it great to hear the rumble of the V-8 again. I had installed an internally regulated alternator, rewired the engine compartment, installed a Pertronix ignitor, and lots of other things. I wasn't sure if I had done everything right but It actually started on the first crank. The float bowl got stuck and was pumping gas all over the place but with a little massaging it got unstuck and the car was running well. I still have a lot to do to actually drive it. ( new starter, exhaust hangers, Hook up the clutch cylinder, redo the brakes, alignment, etc, etc) I am still trying to get it to summit point. ( Maybe) I want to say thanks for all of you that have offered your help and support to me and my dime. A special thanks to Vince Avendano (Yellow 510 Rotary). Without Vince this car would not be running. Thanks to Paolo for all the electrical help. Even a novice like me could use and follow his excellent wiring diagram. I would highly recommend to anyone that owns a dime to buy a wiring diagram from Paolo. The best $15 I ever spent. Well, I have to get back to the dime now so again thanks to all and Happy 510 Day! ENJOY THE RIDE! David qwik510@aol.com 72 510 2 DR V-8 This message comes to you from the Datsun 510 mailing list.
