Amazing! My four door sat in storage for 8 years with about 4 gallons of premium in it, and the tank and sender were both clean and rust free when I took them apart to clean them. What conditions was that sender in?

Here is another assembly tip. Cover your oil filter bung, oil galley holes (on theface of the block) and head feed oil hole with duct tape to prevent debris (dust, animal hairs, whatever) from falling in there. Some of these passages are post filter.
-
Make sure you clean the surface rust off the lower cam gear before final assembly. Rust is an oxide (read hard) and can score journals and imbed into bearings if it makes it past the filter.

Awesome picture! Nice shot.

Everything works, it's loaded... 4 speed automagic OD tranny, light blue crushed velour interior, power moonroof... cruises like a sandbag on the highway...

I love these shocks... I had a set on my second 510 back in '78...

I just pulled an L20B from a '77 620 this past weekend, and it did not have this style bracket, it had the "shorty" single thickness style. I have never seen one like this, with the stiffening bend and dual bolt timing cover hook-up...

I use one identical to this picture. I pulled it from a 720 truck with the NAPZ motor. I am using it with a NAPZ22S block and ER alternator, so I am not positive it would work on the L16/18/20 block or pully spacing.

Nice "Z" emblem on his blazer. What are those wooden boxes at each place setting?

Hey, congratulations John!

ROTFLMAO!!! Oh my head, what a great post Ted! For those of you that think Lou is a raging drunk 510'er, it couldn't be further from the truth... he's just a raging 510'er!!!! :>)

Excellent! I am taking a similar "stripped of anything unnecessary" build technique on my four door. Mine will have an LZ22 and no cage, I was hoping on getting under 2,000 pounds, you are giving me hope that it is possible! Are you running glass hood/fenders?

Very nice ride Dan... what does this car scale at?
Derek - ready to work on his 510
