"The selection of the Datsun 510 as official pace car for Ontario Motor Speedway for the 500 and other races during the next twelve months is truly a milestone. Naturally we're proud that the car will be seen by millions of television race fans as well as the thousands of spectators that are going to attend the California 500 and the other Ontario races. To us, this participation in a great sporting event means that auto enthusiasts (as well as the general public)will see Datsun in a completely new light. They are going to recognize that the Datsun 510 is much more than just another small car. They're going to see the Datsun 510 in a position of authority and leadership. Here's a plot of data acquired on a laptop from my S15 SR20DE (factory Autech ECU) shortly after startup using the BlaZT Consult cable and DataScan 1.4 software (available from www.BlaZT.biz). You can see how the Aux Air Control (AAC) keeps the engine from returning to fast idle (~1250RPM) for several seconds after the throttle has been closed. It's probably an emissions thing, but has always annoyed me. Nevertheless, this BlaZT kit is a tremendous value at only $100.
