Luckily these were in pretty good shape to begin with, although the adjustment screws were frozen in the nylon inserts..A light glass beading and then use of a heat gun on the inserts to soften them and free up the screws!! Next step will be to paint with a wheel paint and clear coat instead of replating .. -
It was hard to find paint to match the factory finish on these peices.. I actually used a flat black, then hand buffed to light sheen to reproduce the factory look.. -

Hopefuly we'll have as good a team and the same guys in the next race!! This one was a real blast..I'm going to stick to one endurance a race after this one..It really knocked me out getting this car done and still doing my shop work..Couldn't even spleep right up at the track, was talking in my sleep and cursing!! Had to switch rooms as the the one guy got scared I'd throw a wrench at him in my sleep!! -

Thats the U20 with the Minunis, set up originally by Fitzy and his team that gave Pete Brock and the BRE boys a real good run for the money..I believe this car was prior to his racing with BSR..The Z cars and 510 where just being prepped at this time and he moved into a Z with Sharp.. The Roadster went to G production.. -
Solder iron made removal simple..Dont use too much heat though, you can destroy it..Pull while heating!! -

Used the 3M plasic weld and the iron to install new donor stud! The 3M product is used to repair Euro headlights and Bonds the plastic together to form a solid joint..Works like the old testors Model cement!! -
