The 55 gallon plastic barrel with ~12 inches of snow for reference. The wagon in background is named "Cuzin Gretchen" (long story).

    BATTERY-RELOCATE

    From the album: Useful Data

Wiring diagram for relocation of battery to trunk using Ford starter solenoid for safety disconnect of main starter cable. Note that 2/0 ga wire is same as 00 ga. It's about 3/8" (10 mm) wire diameter. Use welding cable. Battery box must be securely anchored with steel hardware. Strap system shown uses Kevlar belt and reflects my install. Do not just bolt a box to the trunk floor.

A view from the interior that shows the tree and the car's former decent condition. Notice the perfect dash pad.
  4. From the album: Miscellaneous

A tree came down across the driveway and took out a fairly clean, low rust, orange 4-dr dime - Big Bummer!

    KOA Valve Job - 3

From the album: All Datsun Meet 2006

Source of problem - exhaust valve on #3 burned out due to loose adjustment and hard mountian driving. Carefully drove last 100 miles to Shasta on 3 cylinders (reason for big bite). To bad I did not get a picture of the top of the camp bench - parts, tools, cleaners, lubes, towels, an a beverage or two.

    KOA Valve Job - 2

From the album: All Datsun Meet 2006

A closer look into engine bay - notice that it's not just a simple road-side repair going on here. The timing chain block was chiseled to shape from a longer board, found laying around the KOA, with a jackstand upright and a screwdriver, refined with a jackknife.

    KOA Valve Job - 1

From the album: All Datsun Meet 2006

Approach the car at KOA camp site, notice something seems broken. A dusty campsite in the woods is not the place of choice for this type of repair.

    Paolo's Gymkhana Face

From the album: All Datsun Meet 2006

Example face for the 2006 All Datsun Meet Gymkhana - to be used either for a 'guardian' or a 'Target'.
  10. From the album: Miscellaneous

Chainsaw used to cut tree off the Toyota. This was a 24" Doug fir - it could have flattened this car to within 12" of the ground.

Observe trunk of tree laying across hood of old Corona, No apparent damgage! Amazing! Fortunately, it's just a parts car being held for a friend.
  12. From the album: Miscellaneous

Early February windstorm blew tree down at edge of forest. Some limbs held trunk up. Daughter and Dog investigate.

This is a sketch example of the laminated 24"x36" enhanced wiring diagram and information poster. Colors are not quite accurate to actual poster. To get one, send email to paolo@cedarcomm.com and get $35 MO or check ready. I also have double-sided 11"x17" laminated 'info cards' with a wiring diagram on one side, and Datsun-510 related data on the other.
