This car spent most of its time in the pits with mechanical issues. Entered by Darrell Fancher, it's the Red Farmer 510 rebuilt from a rusted hulk by Bobby Taylor, who also helped restore BRE #85. The car's story is included in the "Hemi in the Barn" book. -

Ecotec VVT 2.4 LE5 Pontiac Solstice powertrain installation in a 2-door by Matt Nesmeth of Oxford, AL. The car won "best engineered motor swap in a Datsun" from Pete Brock at the Mitty. According to Les Cannaday at Classic Datsun Motorsports, this 510 was originally raced by Dave Madison in the 2.5 Challenge series. Photographed at the Mitty 2010 at Road Atlanta, it's headed for a restoration to Trans-Am specs at CDM. The car is featured in the "How to Modify..." book.
