I removed the Lokar cable and used one from a Stanza/Sentra/etc. The right "barrel" end and slightly thicker wire. -

This doesn't quite snap onto the stock Datsun accel pedal ball, but it is supplied with a bolt-on ball. You simple grind and punch the stock ball out and install Lokar's ball. Supplied with a ball -

According to the factory manual you're suppose to put a scale on the steering wheel to adjust play. I'm not sure how this helps, however. -
